Friday evening was the annual Sound Showcase at Matilda's school...her very last one given she is in Grade 12. For the first time it was held in the beautiful new theatre, "The Imperial Playhouse". It has been constructed over the last 12 months or so as part of the Queensland Government's "Schools Of Tomorrow" program.
It's just gorgeous and playing in such a beautiful venue was reflected in the student's performance...they played with maturity and professionalism.
Just a few photos...in the band photo Matilda is seated immediately to the right of the Conductor, she plays first flute. The others are from the Flute Quartet's performance.
I am utterly in awe of anyone who can read music as well as these young people do. It's like another language...so very clever...

She looks beautiful. How wonderful to have such a great performance space. It makes all the difference in the world.
I miss playing music. One of my hope for our future is to once again have a piano in the house. :-)
(((hugs))) to you all...looks fabulous!
